How is the tip calculated?

Tip = bill × (tip percent ÷ 100). Total = bill + tip. Both amounts are rounded to the nearest cent, then divided by the number of people.

How does split n ways work?

Each person pays the rounded total divided by n. Because cents are rounded, the per-person figure is the equal share of the rounded total — not a second independent round of the bill and tip.

Does CalcKit know local tipping customs?

Accepted Answer

No. Presets (10%, 15%, 18%, 20%, 25%) are common starting points in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. You choose the percent. This is arithmetic, not etiquette advice.
